Curriculum Overview

At Ormiston Meadows Academy we foster well-rounded pupils through a broad and balanced curriculum offering opportunities for deep learning and creative, critical thinking. We recognise all our pupils as individuals.

Our curriculum provides them with opportunities to discover and nurture their talents and strengths. We provide a curriculum that is responsive and flexible to our children’s individual needs. We do this through an adaptable timetable to ensure our children gain the relevant skills and knowledge.

We understand that creative expression plays a key role in a child’s emotional development. We strive to be a happy, healthy, inclusive community where our children respect, support and empathise with each other. Strong morals are embedded in the curriculum to encourage children to become model citizens, who have their own sense of identity, embracing and celebrating the differences around them. The curriculum values and embraces our locality and the wide range of communities within it.

We believe that childhood should be a fun, investigative and enquiring time in our lives, where there are no limits to curiosity and there is a thirst for new experiences and knowledge. By providing a broad range of enhancement opportunities, learners are engaged positively. We endeavour to promote a life-long love of reading in order to develop each child’s bank of rich vocabulary, knowledge and creativity.

We aim to ensure that every child leaves Ormiston Meadows Academy with the skills and knowledge to be an independent learner, equipped with the self-belief and drive to achieve their highest aspirations.

We plant the seeds of learning to nurture, develop and grow every child at Ormiston Meadows Academy.
