At Ormiston Meadows Academy we align our curriculum values with those of our school. We expect excellence and resilience within our broad and balanced curriculum; our curriculum is rooted in the solid consensus of the school’s leaders about the knowledge and skills that pupils need in order to reach their full potential, both academically and socially. We offer opportunities for deep learning and creative, critical thinking and recognise all our pupils as individuals. Our curriculum provides them with opportunities to discover and nurture their talents and strengths. Reading is also at the heart of our curriculum, and we are relentless in our aim to ensure that all children have the best chance of becoming fluent, confident readers.
We understand that creative expression plays a key role in a child’s emotional development. We strive to be a happy, healthy, inclusive community where our children respect, support and empathise with each other. Strong morals are embedded in the curriculum to encourage children to become model citizens, who have their own sense of identity, embracing and celebrating the differences around them. The curriculum values and embraces our locality and the wide range of communities within it.
Childhood should be a fun, investigative and enquiring time, where there are no limits to curiosity and there is a thirst for new experiences and knowledge. We provide memorable experiences which helps learning to ‘stick’ which will include visits and visitors We aim to ensure that every child leaves Ormiston Meadows Academy with the skills and knowledge to be a well- rounded, independent learner; equipped with the self-worth and drive to achieve their highest aspirations.
We plant the seeds of learning to nurture, develop and grow every child at Ormiston Meadows Academy.
