In Design and Technology, pupils use their creativity and imagination to design and make products that solve real-world problems for real-world users. Pupils learn how to problem-solve, work as a team, manage risk, communicate ideas and develop key skills needed to perform everyday tasks confidently. We believe that Design and Technology is a subject in which all children, regardless of background or starting point, can feel a sense of achievement.
We want our children to show excellence by creating high-quality products and mastering the technical skills required for each project. Every child will show resilience through the evaluative process, being confident to make changes and improvements based on testing and feedback, and they will show respect when giving feedback to others. They will also develop self-worth through sharing their ideas with others and presenting their finished products; they will become confident communicators who take pride in their achievements.
