Pupils support local project

Our pupils have been busy creating care package donations to support The Light Box Project in Peterborough. The Light Box leads projects such as the Peterborough Winter Night Shelter and The Garden House day centre for the homeless and celebrated their 10 year anniversary in 2019.

The pupils decided to organise a collection in exchange for wearing Christmas jumpers as part of our social action initiative ‘Ormiston Meadows Kindness in the Community Campaign’, an initiative that looks to foster stronger links between the academy and the wider local community. The academy was determined to continue this important work while still adhering to Covid guidelines.

Mrs Kelly Moore, Principal said, “We were delighted to be able to support this very worthy cause in the run up to Christmas.

“Being a part of the local community is central to our school life at Ormiston Meadows Academy, and I’m really pleased that pupils have found ways to continue doing that this year.

“Due to the current restrictions, we have been unable to proceed with as many of the planned social action initiatives as we had hoped.”
